Obtaining my GrandFather's Birth Certificate from Rhodes, Italy

Greetings, I am in the process of submitting Jure Sanguinis and have hit a road block.
Both my paternal Grand Father and Grand Mother were born on the Isle of Rhodes when it was controlled by Italy. They were both Italian Citizens. I can't seem to get a good response as to where I should go to get a copy of his Birth Certificate. The Greeks, who control Rhodes now, have not answered my requests and I can't find a department in Italy that has an answer to my problem.
